Bitget Secures VASP License In Bulgaria For EU Passport Under MiCA

Bitget has obtained a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license from Bulgaria’s National Revenue Agency, which authorizes the cryptocurrency exchange to offer a full suite of digital asset services within the country. The approval allows Bitget to provide exchange, trading, transfer, custody, and public offering of crypto assets, along with wallet services.

The move is part of Bitget’s strategy to secure a European Union Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license, a EU-wide regulatory framework designed to create a unified approach to digital asset oversight.

“Bitget is bound to lead with aggressive global scaling”

Hon Ng, Chief Legal Officer at Bitget, stated, “The successful application of the VASP license in Bulgaria is a part of Bitget’s expansion strategy to serve users across the European Union. As the EU continues to lead with regulatory frameworks like MiCA, we see strong potential for sustainable growth and innovation in the region while maintaining compliance. Bulgaria serves as a strategic gateway for our European expansion, offering crypto-friendly ecosystems the chance to accelerate crypto adoption.”

Ng added, “In 2025, Bitget is bound to lead with aggressive global scaling, with a sharp focus on meeting compliance standards in every jurisdiction where we operate. This approach supports increasing users’ trust and ensures long-term growth as we align our operations with emerging regulations worldwide.”

Bitget has pursued regulatory approvals in multiple European markets, having secured licenses in Poland, Italy, Lithuania, and the UK. The company sees compliance as essential for long-term growth and investor confidence. The VASP license in Bulgaria allows Bitget to expand its offerings to local digital asset users. Services covered under the license include crypto-to-fiat exchange, trading, transfer, and custody solutions. It also enables the public offering of crypto assets, paving the way for token launches and market participation.

In recent months, Bitget has pursued an aggressive expansion strategy. It secured a BSP license in El Salvador, gained approval to offer digital asset services in the UK, powered the launch of Vietnam-based exchange BitEXC, and entered discussions with India’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).

The company says it aims to work closely with European authorities to align its operations with evolving crypto regulations while prioritizing security and compliance.
